Job Title: Storage Engineer
What does a successful Storage Engineer do at Fiserv? Fiserv is a world-class data and analytics organization delivering the next generation of powerful data insights and decisioning solutions to financial institutions, government agencies, merchants, and more. You'll help deliver supportable infrastructure technology solutions based on architectural standards, new technology roadmaps, and business requirements; all of this is critical to modernizing traditional SAN technologies through cloud migrations.
What you will do: Work with the storage engineering team and/or outside consultants in architecting and designing enterprise storage solutions within business and commercial guidelines.Improve enterprise quality and availability of storage-engineered infrastructure components.Simplify, review, deploy, and further improve the automation of repeatable tasks and processes, including alerting, monitoring, maintenance, backup recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery.Manage incident and issue problem resolution in coordination with internal teams or external vendors.Assist in improving storage engineering team productivity and execution with continued deployment of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) common processes, interfaces, tools, and automation.Manage the maintenance of data storage solutions by utilizing IBM DS8K enterprise class storage, Dell EMC, Pure, NetApp, InfiniDat, and SAN fabric infrastructure (Cisco, Brocade).What you will need to have: 7+ years of experience in storage architecture, engineering, or operations.5+ years of experience in SAN switch technology management, storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, performance management, and volume management.5+ years of experience with scripting, integration, and/or orchestration tools, such as Python, Perl, Ansible, VMware vRealize, Spectrum Protect, Splunk, and Moogsoft.5+ years of experience with EMC (Dell, PowerMax), Pure, NetApp NAS, Cisco, and Brocade.4+ years of experience with large-scale storage solutions, including on-and-off-premises integration.Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of work, education, and/or military experience.What would be great to have: Experience with storage cyber ransomware solutions and integration.Experience with Kubernetes containers.Important info about this role: We're better together! These pay ranges apply to employees in Maryland. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. Certain Positions are Commissions eligible.
