STEEL ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION:
A premier structural steel fabricator has an opening for a Steel Estimator with talent, initiative, and drive to join their team and have a critical role in their growing organization. This Estimating position comes with a very competitive salary and great benefits.
Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quantitative take offs.
Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimate
Determine labor and equipment costs
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards
Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
Review quotes and estimates with the project team
Prepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers
Serve as company interface between owner & architect
Steel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS :
3+ years of steel estimating experience
Detailing experience not required but a bonus.
Advanced computer skills with estimating software
Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
Understand aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts.
