Student - Sports Information Assistant

General Description: The Newman University Athletic Department is looking for reliable and responsible student workers to assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. This involves attending and working during multiple sporting events. Responsibilities: Set up and tear down before and after gamesRecord live statistics and update social media during gamesAssist with scoreboard operation, public addresses, and music and audio functions during gamesOperate the camera and live streaming monitorOccasionally write games stories and provide graphic design or photography Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (12 credit hours per semester)General knowledge of athletic events with a background in sports preferredMust be punctual and dependableSome heavy lifting and moving of equipmentAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of time Number of hours per week: Max of 20 hours Days and times: Varies week to week with most hours being evenings and weekends Rate of Pay: $8.25 per hour Founded in 1933, Newman University is a liberal arts institution grounded in Catholic values and traditions, yet is respectful of all faiths.
