Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The safety and efficacy of our medical devices are heavily dependent on the efforts and timely execution of the Arthrex Orthopedic Research Department. The Research Operations team is seeking a graduate-level student to assist with medical writing and scientific communications to support the scientific excellence of the department. The successful candidate will be closely involved in the support of biomechanical and clinical research projects and critical initiatives, including but not limited to scientific publications, scientific updates and technical documents, market research, communication initiatives, and all research-related processes.
This position will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility. Main Objective: To contribute to scientific publications, scientific updates, and market research. Support the development of guidelines and process improvement initiatives for research core activities within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support scientific publication development. Support scientific evidence initiatives consistent with departmental strategies. Support Biomechanical Operations projects – including, but not limited to study review and updates. Communication efforts – support scientific communication initiatives for the global department and stakeholders through various channels. Assist with relevant research operations projects, provide support for ongoing departmental initiatives as needed, and adapt to evolving priorities. Support other research operations projects as assigned. Education and Experience: BS Degree required. Enrolled in a Masters/PhD program required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as a Summer Associate up to six months from their graduation date.) Scientific literature and publication experience required. Good command of statistical analysis, scientific manuscript writing, clinical or biomedical research required.  Interested in a career in orthopedic research and health care industry experience preferred. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Intermediate to Expert computer skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct and/or analyze research related to industries and competitors. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to drive rigorous, well-communicated deliverables. Attention to detail and strong work ethic. Good team player, able to build trust relationships within cross-functional teams. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: PC; High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; Word and Excel. PowerPoint applications proficiency is preferred.
