Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose The System Director, Epic Gold Clinical Governance is a Provider who serves a crucial role in establishing clinically-led Epic Gold Governance and Specialty Standardization. Collaborating closely with clinical and IT teams, this position establishes cross venue solution design groups across over 70 specialty groups within Epic Gold, facilitating rapid implementation of clinical enhancements. Additionally, they provide informatics leadership, developing clinical content to support quality initiatives and promoting evidence-based practices. This position promotes buy-in for the Epic Gold project, engages stakeholders, and guides the selection and deployment of national clinical systems to enhance user experience for clinicians and patients.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities + Establishing Epic Gold Governance: Provide oversight and guidance in the development and implementation of Epic Gold Governance protocols as sites transition to go-live status. This involves ensuring policies and procedures are in place to facilitate smooth operation and adherence to standards, while also addressing any clinical concerns that may arise.
+ Creating Efficient Clinically Led Specialty Content Decision-Making Structures: Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to establish solution design groups and clinician specialty groups within Epic Gold. These structures enable efficient decision-making and rapid implementation of clinical enhancements, with a focus on optimizing workflows and improving patient care outcomes.
+ Informatics Leadership on Clinical Advisory Committees: Strategic leadership on clinical advisory and steering committees related to informatics. This includes providing insights to inform strategic decisions and drive system improvements, ensuring alignment with clinical best practices and regulatory requirements.
+ Developing Clinical Content for Quality Initiatives: Lead efforts to develop and curate clinical content within Epic to support quality initiatives and enhance patient care delivery. This involves creating templates, order sets, and clinical pathways that reflect evidence-based practices and promote quality outcomes for patients.
+ Promoting Epic Gold Adoption: Engage fellow clinicians and administration to secure support and buy-in for the Epic Gold project. Emphasize the benefits of adoption and mastery, while addressing any concerns or challenges that may arise during implementation. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and utilization of the Epic Gold platform.
+ National Clinical Councils Leadership: Provide guidance and recommendations on the selection and deployment of national clinical systems and tools. Evaluate options based on clinical needs, usability, and interoperability, while advocating for solutions that align with organizational goals and priorities.
+ Collaborating for System Enhancements: Collaborate with clinicians, medical leadership, and IT teams to prioritize, develop, and implement system enhancements, upgrades, and new features within the Epic Gold platform. This collaborative approach ensures alignment with clinical priorities and enhances the overall user experience for clinicians and patients alike.
+ Strategic Collaboration: Foster collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, Clinical Informatics experts, Clinical Leadership, and other key stakeholders. Align EHR initiatives with organizational objectives and priorities, leveraging collective expertise to drive impactful outcomes and advance patient-centric care delivery.
+ Strategic Communication and Advisory: Serve as a proactive liaison between leadership and the broader organization, effectively communicating the imminent introduction of new health IT solutions aligned with regional business objectives. Additionally, adeptly identify and articulate potential challenges or distractors to leadership, ensuring informed decision-making and strategic foresight.
+ Stakeholder Engagement and Education: Conduct comprehensive departmental meetings and personalized sessions with physicians to disseminate vital information, gather feedback, address concerns, and dispel misconceptions regarding upcoming health IT implementations. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages active participation and cultivates a sense of ownership among stakeholders.
+ Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Uphold adherence to stringent regulatory requirements and safeguard data privacy and security protocols within the realm of EHR operations. Develop and implement robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
+ Recognition and Knowledge Sharing: Showcase success stories of colleagues who have effectively leveraged health IT solutions to achieve positive outcomes, celebrating achievements and inspiring others to embrace innovation. Foster a culture of recognition and knowledge sharing, promoting peer-to-peer learning and collaboration.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience + Required MD, DO, NP or PA level of education. Minimum 10 years of clinical practice and 7 years of Health IT leadership experience.
Required Licensure and Certifications + Board Certification/Licensure in clinical specialty or informatics
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training + Mastery of Management Principles, Practices, and Techniques.
+ Proficiency in Information Technology Principles, Practices, and Techniques.
+ Familiarity with Applicable CommonSpirit Health Policies, Procedures, and Information Technology Systems.
+ Understanding of Applicable Federal, State, and Local Laws, Codes, and Regulations.
+ Knowledge of Applicable Theories and Principles related to the Area of Assignment.
+ Expertise in Managing, Monitoring, and Evaluating Staff.
+ Competence in Planning Tactical and Operational Activities.
+ Strong Problem-Solving and Process Analysis Skills.
+ Effective Written and Oral Communication and Interpersonal Skills, suitable for interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the public, facilitating the exchange of information and receipt of work direction.
Pay Range $101.73 – $162.77 /hour
