Our associate manager of state and local tax will be responsible to complete tax assignments, develop team members, look for efficiencies in processes and drive change. The following outlines most responsibilities and will have special projects and stretch assignments based on business needs or tax updates/changes:
Performs state and local tax research daily with regard to changing state and local tax rules, special projects, studies, etc.Schedules and conducts state income tax audits for the corporation's state tax returns.Reviews and participates in the major state income tax filings of the corporation.Performs the calculation of the current and deferred state income tax provision and forecasts.Manages and provides data for Forward Pricing and Incurred Cost audits.Actively pursues state refund opportunities.Assist with the federal and state tax packets review.Develops and trains staff.Basic Qualifications: 6 years of experience preparing/reviewing state income tax returns and with state income tax controversyTax Accounting knowledgeResearch skillsEffective communication skillsEffective leadership skillsEffective interpersonal skillsEffective organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, Excel, Word, Powerpoint (features - VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Functions, Formulas, Tables, Charts, Data Storytelling)Desired Skills: CPA or Masters Degree in Tax, Accounting, or related disciplineExperience with calculating state income tax provisions and forecasts of a Fortune 500 companyExperience with FIN48, ASC 740, and Sarbanes OxleyFamiliarity with Corptax, Thomson Reuters' Onesource software, and Hyperion8 years experience in Big Four tax firms3 years experience leading teamsClearance Level: None
