Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled individual to join our dynamic team as a Technical Editor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our programs' success by ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of technical documentation.
As a Technical Editor, you will play a critical role in reviewing, revising, and editing a wide range of documents prepared by various teams. Your expertise will be essential in refining installation instructions, updating training materials, and enhancing other technical documents to meet the highest standards of precision and readability. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers to ensure that all content is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicates complex information to the intended audience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and editing, with exceptional attention to detail and a deep understanding of technical terminology and document formatting. Your ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines will be key to your success in this role.
Skills / Experience Required Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)3+ years of hands-on professional experience of similar size and scopeExpert Technical Writing & Editing: Demonstrated proficiency in producing and refining technical documents for projects of comparable size and complexity, ensuring clarity, precision, and adherence to project standardsProficiency in DoD & Industry-Specific Terminology: In-depth knowledge of Department of Defense standards and industry-specific technical terminology, enabling accurate and effective communication across specialized contentRobust Quality Assurance Expertise: Extensive experience in implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and overall excellence of technical documentationAdvanced Microsoft Suite Proficiency: High-level expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, particularly in the creation, formatting, and editing of complex technical documentsEducation / Certifications Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism or communications preferredBenefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTOPaid Paternal leaveTuition reimbursementPaid federal holidaysSecurity Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen.
