Barbaricum is seeking a Technical Writer to provide support to the Maneuver, Surveillance and Engagement Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane. This individual will provide support in technical writing, documentation control, quality, and format/punctuation, meeting notes, and software/hardware configuration management. Furthermore, they will embed with the existing technical team, attend meetings, provide data required to facilitate meetings, and review CDRL deliverables to reflect correct formatting, grammar, and punctuation. This position is part of a larger contract team supporting engineering, technical, and program support for software engineering and cyber engineering for expeditionary systems and product lines for the NSWC customer. This will include design, development, system integration, sensor and data fusion, data management, data mining, production, information assurance/cybersecurity, installation, rapid prototyping, Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), Configuration Management, technical writing, and sustainment for Information Technology and software-centric systems. This position has limited telework options, with personnel required on-site three to four days per week.
\n ResponsibilitiesDraft process and engineering documents: Software Version Description (SVD), Software Development Plan (SDP), Change Control Board (CCB), System Level Design Process (SLDP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP).Provide information and build reports to enable real-time decisions leading to on-time delivery of scheduled software releases.Document meeting minutes and decisions/outcomes.Review CDRLs for grammar, formatting, spelling, and punctuation accuracyAssist in documentation control with the software configuration management specialistAssist in integrated master schedule development and updatesGather and format monthly status reports for CDRL deliveryData entry QualificationsActive DoD Secret clearanceAssociate's or Bachelor's degree (business, engineering, technical) preferred3+ years of related experienceDemonstrated DoD technical writing experienceAbility to leverage experience and knowledge to draft and review technical and process documentsMust be detail-oriented with strong communication skills
