Our Chicago office is excited to welcome aTechnical Writerto our Internship Program.
We are looking for a motivated individual ready to jump in and support our development teams with preparing and reorganizing technical content for software projects.
ThisTechnical CommunicationInternshipwill position you to bean integralpart oftheSiemensEngineeringTeam. You willwork closely withTechnicalDocumentationExperts as well asSoftwareDevelopers andTesters. You will have the opportunity to gain experience with a content management system and apply your knowledge in all aspects of technical communications in an agile work environment.
You will be asked to research,analyzeand organize content using the latest technologies and apply industry best-practices to drive the growth of Siemens asTechnicalWriter/Editor.
TheSiemens Buildings Internship Program is a10–12-week internship positionand is designed to help you create a successful career path as a software leader within Siemens.
The Internship Program start dates for Summer 2025 are May 19th, June2nd,or June 9th.

What you will do as a Siemens Buildings Technical Writer Intern:
Support business acrossSmart Infrastructure
Receiveregular,formalclassroom and virtual trainingin Agile software development, technical skill development, leadership, anddevelop aneye for business
Work alongside senior technical writers and other program participants to deliver business value on tight deadlines
Report outregularly to senior business leaders on deliverables
Partner with mentorsin upper management
Exposure to a global work environment
Apply problem solving skills to document complex workflows and procedures
Develop content with audience and purpose in mind
Work in cross-functional team environment
Apply the tools and critical thinking skills needed to be an effective communicator in your professional life

Required Qualifications:
Current sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree with at least one yearremainingin their school program. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2025.
Pursing abachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
Mustbe located inChicago area during Summer 2025
Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the U.S. isrequired

High interest in learningnew technologiesquickly
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate and articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms
Demonstrated project management skills
Leadership skills inside and outside the classroom

The hourly pay range for this position is $23 - $28. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
