Lochmueller group is seeking an experienced and energetic Traffic Engineering professional to join our team as a Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager for our Traffic Engineering and Planning (TEP) operations in Kentucky. This person would serve in a leadership capacity on our growing TEP Team, which consists of over 10 PTOEs, 4 AICPs, and several PTPs and RSPs. This role will be responsible for leading efforts to grow our traffic engineering and planning team and expand our business in the regional market.

About this role: This role will have the opportunity to lead traffic engineering and transportation planning projects, and work collaboratively with the regional leader and the discipline leader to grow the traffic engineering and planning service lines in the region. As growth occurs, we anticipate this position participating in building and leading a team in these disciplines. \n In this position the candidate will: Coordinate and collaborate with other senior leaders of the firm on client management and strategic business development within KentuckyParticipate in expanding the traffic engineering and planning services in the regionAs services grow in the region, participate in building and leading a traffic engineering and planning teamProvide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for junior staffGenerate project proposals and participate in project interviews in coordination with marketing staff and senior leadershipDevelop project goals, scopes of work, and budgets to guide project activitiesCoordinate and manage the work of team members involved in the projectProvide quality control and quality assurance on all aspects of the project  Produce high-quality deliverables and communicate project findings to clientsPursue new business opportunities through relationships, professional organizations, etc. Keep abreast of emerging trends in the transportation industry, such as autonomous vehicles, Smart Cities technologies, ridesharing, TSMO, ITS, etc.As opportunities and demands present themselves, this role may perform other responsibilities related to the position.  Required Qualification: 12+ years of relevant traffic engineering experienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or similarRegistered Professional Engineer (PE)Experience with Synchro 10 and traffic signal operations/phasingExperience with traffic simulation modeling software packages such as PTV's VISSIMExperience with innovative intersection and interchange configurationsExperience with the predictive methods of the Highway Safety ManualExperience with traffic forecasting methodsExcellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in civil engineering or similarRegistered as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)Prior project experience with a state Department of TransportationExperience with travel demand modeling software packages such as Caliper's TransCADExperience with AutoCAD or MicroStationExperience with urban, multimodal transportation planning and traffic calmingExperience leading teams in a project client environment What we offer:Flexible scheduling and telecommuting opportunities (subject to further discussion for specific circumstances and frequency)Competitive salaryEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – Become an employee-owner!Rich coverage for major medical insurance401(k) plan with company matchBasic life insurance (with option for additional voluntary life insurance)Short-Term and Long-Term disability insuranceGenerous vacation and sick leaveStudent loan repayment benefit
