**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency **Job Specialty:** Adult Emergency Department **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days, 3x12 Hr shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year experience **License:** Current RN License issued by the State Nursing Board or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) **Certifications:** - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association - ACLS (American Heart Association) **Must-Have:** - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures - Good verbal and written communication skills - Some computer skills **Job Description:** - Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision. - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. - Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary. - Administer prescribed medication and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver competent patient care. - Interact with family and patient to share the care plan while hospitalized and at discharge. - Inform patient and family of hospital procedures. - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Perform other duties as assigned.
