**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 3pm - 3am **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required; 2 years preferred. Travel experience and experience in Level 1 or Level 2 facilities preferred. **License:** Valid RN License **Certifications:** BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only) **Must-Have:** Strong background in medical patients and critical care, flexibility, critical thinking, reasoning skills, team-oriented, personable **Job Description:** - Care for ventilated patients, initiate and titrate IV drips (vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics) - Assist with intubations and line placements - Monitor critically ill patients with primary diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia - Work in a mixed acuity unit with both ICU and progressive care patients - Utilize equipment including Phillips heart monitors, Epic (EMR), Pyxis, EKG machine, and dopplers - Float to other ICU, progressive, and medical-surgical units, maintaining a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio - Work three 12-hour shifts per week, primarily on weekends if possible - Participate in onboarding through workforce development with EPIC training and a one-day unit onboarding program - Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs; jackets must be black, white, or Caribbean blue; undershirts must be black or white
