**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Variable 3x12-Hour; Night or Day shifts available **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of recent Level 4 experience; Will consider a strong Level 3 RN with experience in a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns and a strong first-time traveler **License:** Valid California License required **Certifications:** BLS, Advanced NRP (PALS Preferred) **Must-Have:** - Experience with oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, Nasal Cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC, UVC, PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes - Comfort with line changes involving multiple drips, pre and post-operative care - FLU SHOT REQUIRED (No exemptions) - Willingness to float between units and NICU satellite campuses - Own transportation - Ability to work every other weekend and two out of three holidays **Job Description:** - Provide high-level care to critically ill newborns in the NICU - Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to perform and assist in surgeries on newborns - Float between various units including PICU & CVICU and NICU satellite campuses as needed - Maintain and operate specialized equipment necessary for the care of infants with complex medical conditions - Manage and administer care for infants requiring ventilatory support and specialized procedures - Complete modules prior to the start date (6-8 hours of non-billable time) - Maintain compliance with hospital policy and procedures - Document patient care accurately and timely - Adapt to changes in work assignments and priorities - Reimbursement for mileage when traveling to other facilities based on IRS standard rates, with proper documentation and approval Candidates are expected to comply with travel compliance requirements and ensure all documents are up to date prior to the start date.
