We are looking for a Turbomachinery Analyst to enhance our Propulsion Development team. This role is critical in developing and optimizing advanced propulsion systems to meet our aggressive and innovative goals. You will be responsible for developing and qualifying air breathing propulsion systems along with supporting flight testing as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Own critical turbomachinery components and be responsible for every aspect of the turbomachinery analysis.Assist in research and development regarding analysis of aircraft engines, engine components, advanced combustion and fuel injection systems.Conduct aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis to evaluate new and existing designs.Ensure that turbomachinery solutions are developed to meet challenging manufacturing goals, minimum cost/weight and on an aggressive schedule.Lead projects from conception through to testing and validation.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringA minimum of 5 years of experience in turbomachinery analysisCreation and maintenance of 3D models of compressor geometry.Exposure to testing of engines, or powertrain components.Proven expertise in the aerodynamics and thermodynamics of turbomachinery.U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled dataPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with air-breathing propulsion systems (Small jet engines, APUs)Experience with Numerical analysis Toolsets for turbomachinery (AxStream, Concepts NREC)Experience with aerodynamic rig testing techniques for turbomachinery components.Experience stage matching using multistage 3D CFD (e.g. ADS, APNASA, FINE/Turbo)Familiarity with Turbine Cycle Analysis (NPSS)Knowledge of fundamentals of internal combustion engines.Professional experience designing, testing, or flying air-breathing combustors, augmentors, ignition systems, variable area nozzles, or turbomachinery.US Salary Range: $142,000 - $205,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
