Position Overview:
As an Underwriting Consultant for E&I, you'll play a pivotal role in analyzing health benefit plan characteristics and evaluating risks to ensure the financial security of our clients. By applying established underwriting criteria and policies, you'll develop innovative rating methodologies and models to facilitate economic analysis and market alternatives. Your expertise will guide the assessment of pricing options and plan design changes, aligning with client strategies to optimize outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Focus primarily on a Local Market book of business, ensuring seamless product integration for optimal financial performance.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting and local market sales teams to deliver competitive financial responses.
- Meet quarterly reporting requirements and anticipate customer needs by proactively developing solutions.
- Serve as a key resource on complex issues, providing innovative solutions and performing detailed analyses.
- Review the work of others, offering recommendations for improvement, and forecast resource requirements as needed.
- Authorize deviations from standards and may lead functional or segment teams or projects.
- Provide explanations and guidance on complex issues, acting as a mentor and leader within the team.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare industry underwriting/financial management for various products such as PPO, HMO, Stop Loss, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Ancillary, Self-Funded, ASO/Fully-Insured for group or individual clients.
- 1+ years of experience in Risk Management.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to understand and calculate revenue, expense, risk, and profit.

- Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington: Salary range $70,200 to $137,800 annually.
