WHAT WE ARE SEEKING Walmart Connect is looking for a seasoned event producer to join our B2B Brand and Enterprise Sales Marketing team to support our mission to become a must-buy ad platform for brands of all sizes. This role is an integral part of a small team of four responsible for Walmart Connect event strategy and logistical management.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on the sell-side of the media industry planning, managing, and executing all types of event activations and tactics— including but not limited to client entertaining, VIP dinners, major media industry and category specific conference sponsorship activations, 1000+ person multi-day summits.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Own end-to-end logistical execution for an annual roster of events as assigned to you by the Head of Events. Design event activations to drive and measure the desired business objectives. Create and drive event planning timelines inclusive of kick-off meetings with marketing strategists, briefings with internal attendees, creative briefings for brand managers and creative teams. Ensure all deadlines are met. Cultivate key relationships for crucial collaboration-- aligning multiple different stakeholders around the vision for each event you produce. Work with event content manager to execute customer facing event communications including but not limited to invitations, agendas, onsite collateral, and signage. Engage Corporate Communications to create all thought leadership, panels and presentation event elements. Engage Brand Strategy on all branding elements and design. Own the creation of an always-up-to-date master PowerPoint presentation for each event that outlines details. Present plans to key stakeholders and leaders for alignment and approvals. Execute venue sourcing and site visits and selection for best fit locations. Evaluate vendor services and venues according to industry standards and stakeholder requirements; communicate and gain buy-in on recommendations. Effectively negotiate contracts for hotels, venues and vendors, including F&B, any/all audio-visual elements appropriate for events. Registration/list management (e.g., invite lists, attendee management, rooming lists, name badges in partnership with lead development representatives). Act as the on-site captain to direct vendors, support internal attendees, greet guests, and trouble shoot in real time. Create post event follow ups and surveys to measure and document success. Manage event budget, invoice payment, and post event reconciliation. Continue to learn from each activation and make recommendations for future executions to improve outcomes and create efficiencies. Always acting in accordance with documented Walmart values and our everyday low-cost ethos. REQUIREMENTS 7-10 years' experience in event management (strategic and tactical). Supreme organizational skills and attention to details. A passion for creating engaging experiences that surprise and delight. PowerPoint presentation building skills. Budgeting and timeline management experience. Strong written and oral communication. Ability to partner cross-functionally, building healthy relationships across an organization. A proven problem-solver who can identify the root cause of challenge and proactively work to solve. Experience in the media industry a plus. Ability to travel to assigned events. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Hospitality, Business, or related field and 3 years' experience in communications, project management, event management, or relevant area OR 5 years' experience in communications, project management, event management, or relevant area. 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
