Job Location:

Location is flexible and can be in our Boston headquarters or any one of the regional offices in Fall River, Lawrence, Worcester, Springfield, Devens.

Hybrid Schedule:

Minimum two days a week worked in-person.

Senior Vice President of Community Investment.

Job Overview:

Our Community Investment department develops and manages grant programs to foster economic growth in various sectors across the state, including childcare, arts and culture, real estate, business, entrepreneurship, and healthcare. The Vice President of Community Investment will report directly to the Senior Vice President and oversees one or more grant programs, starting with the Family Childcare Capital Grant (FCC Capital Grant) in FY25. This grant provides essential resources for capital improvements to home-based childcare centers statewide and is funded by the Department of Early Education and Care, marking a pioneering effort in Massachusetts. The VP will be instrumental in shaping the strategy and operations for the initial cohorts of this initiative, while also tracking key analytics and success stories to inform future programming.

Responsibilities:

Oversee a comprehensive portfolio of statewide projects by assessing eligibility and viability, while ensuring a seamless progression through underwriting, documentation, and closure processes.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop program guidelines, initiate program rounds, establish review panels, and draft approval memos for recommended projects.

Manage relationships with Agency-contracted consultants to deliver technical support to grantees.

Assist prospective grantees in refining project concepts and preparing application materials for Agency review.

Address program inquiries via telephone and email and facilitate public Q&A sessions as necessary.

Ensure timely review and allocation of funds to grantees.

Maintain effective communication with project sponsors and teams to guarantee timely progress.

Accurately input project data into the Agency's database and establish data collection protocols for outcome reports.

Provide internal and external communications teams with relevant data and information for press releases, social media, articles, and stories.

Compose project descriptions, recommendations, and briefings for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Collaborate with other Agency departments to refer projects for additional funding considerations.

Participate in internal review panels for other Agency programs.

Competencies:

Understanding of workplace concepts and issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent training and experience.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

Experience in fields related to real estate, finance, childcare administration or services, construction, planning or have similar transferrable experiences.

Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
