About the Role
The Vice President, Controlling, Americas - Automotive position is responsible for leading all finance & controlling activities for the Automotive Division, Americas region.
The position reports to the SVP Controlling, Automotive Division and dotted line to the SVP & GM, Automotive Division, Americas.
The position requires close collaboration and financial oversight of Customer Business Units (CBUs), Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, and Marketing, and requires interaction and alignment with Automotive division management both in North America and globally.
Your Team
This position will have 5 direct reports - 20+ internal headcount total.
What You Will Do Partner with the Americas General Manager, Automotive, and Customer Business Unit heads in support of all areas impacting the Americas P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow of the Automotive Division including commercial offers, pricing strategies, investment decisions, growth initiatives and cost reduction programs.
Lead in-depth business and financial analysis supporting key decisions in the various functional areas (sales, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, operations, Business Units and G&A).
Lead finance and controlling activities for all Automotive customers and programs in the America's region of Harman's Automotive Division including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Subaru, Toyota NA & Brazil, Harley-Davidson, John Deere and Tesla.
Perform key finance processes for the region, including monthly financial and operational reporting and analysis, monthly risks & ops, quarterly forecasts, annual P&L / balance sheet / free cash flow budgets, long term planning, and SOX compliance.
Ensure financial commitments including capital budgets, expense budgets, new business proposals and working capital are achieved.
Collaborate with and lead global colleagues to ensure correct transactional and finance approach for (i) global programs (ii) global CoCs (iii) customs and duty compliance (maquiladora) (iv) global license agreements, rebates, and other procurement topics (v) global manufacturing, and alignment on other global finance and controlling topics.
Lead financial initiatives for Automotive value engineering (program cost reductions) in the Americas Region.
Perform as financial lead for Americas based restructuring projects, and as financial lead on an ad-hoc basis for strategic business planning, including M&A related activity.
Lead Automotive Americas reviews of purchasing initiatives, including last time buy commitments.
Being key liaison partner for Corporate or Samsung with respect to any financial or financial process related question that is requested in the context of Automotive Business in Americas.
Support all SBU's in the daily operations of the business in the region.
What You Need Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business management discipline, MBA preferred.
15+ years' experience in relevant Finance or Accounting role Automotive industry (either OEM or supplier) experience Experience working in a matrix environment.
SAP knowledge Demonstrated track record of working under deadlines in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and accomplishing objectives.
Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail to grasp complex situations with changing circumstances to develop well-reasoned solutions to get the job done while balancing risks.
Ownership, control, and accountability for all areas of responsibility and commitments made to others.
Strong leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills.

USD 210,000 - USD 308,000
