Wastewater Collections Operator

Position: Wastewater Collections Operator Location: [Chapel Hill, NC]
We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Wastewater Collections Operator 1. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the maintenance and operation of our wastewater collection system.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of wastewater collection lines and facilities to check for leaks, blockages, or other issues
- Use specialized equipment, such as sewer cameras and Jetters, to clean and clear blockages in collection lines
- Monitor and maintain lift stations and pump stations to ensure efficient operation
- Assist in repairing and replacing damaged or malfunctioning components of the collection system
- Respond to emergency calls and take action to prevent overflow or spills
- Keep accurate records of daily activities and report any issues to supervisors
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in outdoor and sometimes adverse weather conditions
- Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of tools and equipment used in wastewater collection systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Previous experience in wastewater collection operations is preferred, but not required
Pay rate will directly reflect experience in wastewater/ collections systems.
