Indianapolis, IN / Columbus, OH / Cleveland, OHThis is a technical position in Water Resources Services with responsibility in supporting a wide variety of hydrologic and water utility projects for August Mack and our clients. Work for this position will be performed with direction from multiple experienced technical personnel. The position reports to the Director of Water Resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSLead and delegate project site visits, reporting, and data collection/analysis effortsEstablish and maintain the project team to oversee and assign projects to professional-level and administrative support staffAssist or perform field related tasks such as collecting samples, routine laboratory analyses, and operational oversight at wastewater treatment plantsPrepare proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for projectsAssist the Director of Water Resources in tracking project momentum and departmental metricsHave the ability to become a subject matter expert in a technical specialtyAble to perform or supervise non-routine tasks with limited-to-no supervisionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESPerform technical research and writing associated with reports and proposalsMust have or be eligible to obtain a signatory credential recognized in the State of Indiana and/or other state in which August Mack has an office, such as a Drinking Water or Wastewater license, LPG, CHMM, or PEHave strong technical background, a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complicated environmental issues, as well as to teach and train others in these areasFlexibility to apply problem solving skills to a wide variety of disciplinesEffective and professional communicationsSkills in organization, scheduling, and time managementAbility to prioritize and delegate tasksJOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation: B.S. in environmental science or related field*
Recommended Experience: 1-5 years of experience in drinking water treatment, waste water treatment and/or environmental consulting
Additional requirements: Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and physically capable of operating the vehicles safely

JOB CONTEXT50% or more office (controlled environment), up to 50% field/site visit/client travel (environmental job hazards)
This classification requires travel to various client locations resulting in occasional longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights.
