Job Summary
Under the general supervisor of the Director of the Career Development Center and led by the WorkAbility IV Program Coordinator, the incumbent adheres to established procedures to assist the coordinator with data management and identifying employment opportunities for students in the program. The incumbent utilizes existing procedures and resources to document student contacts and program activities. Additionally, the incumbent generates required progress and case management reports and perform research related to program production.
The incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. The position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Employment/Internship Services: Works directly with individual students as assigned by Coordinator to provide basic information and resources necessary for students to find internships/employment.
Contact Support Services: Meets with Program Coordinator for ongoing training and supervision. Attends various staff meetings (e.g. Career Development Center, Bob Murphy Access Center, DOR Contract Trainings, Quarterly Contract Meetings with Program Coordinator) to develop a thorough understanding of the preparation of WA IV Contracts, Renewals, Augmentations and Amendments as well and the established procedures for documentation of, tracking and reporting of contract services and Certified Time

Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and communicate clearly and effectively with students, peers, administrators, campus and University personnel, clients, state officials, vendors, professionals, management, etc. Strong writing skills to produce reports and synthesize large amounts of information. Ability to manage, organize and demonstrate command of complex and continuously changing array of information, dates, places, and people in a systematic way in order to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort in the process of completing projects. Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations procedures etc. to define the problem, identify the relevant issues, and generate reasonable and appropriate alternatives or solutions.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and one year of directly related experience required.
Occasional evenings, weekends, and or extended hours.

Physical Summary
Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Licenses
Possess a valid CA Driver's license to be able to travel to local employer job sites in support of employment and recruitment efforts for CSULB students. Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range:The hiring range for this position is $4,269 - $4,482 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range:The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,269 - $6,040 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
