Summary This position is responsible for business system administration and management of the Finance or Human Resources department's Workday applications. The individual will lead the design, testing, implementation and maintenance of the system; work with technical experts to evaluate needs within the department, develop procedures, evaluate options, perform gap analysis, document process and design recommendations and implement appropriate solutions. This position acts as a coordinating and collaborative bridge between the functional/operational areas of the department and key technical positions in the Information Technology Department. NOTE: This posting is for two vacancies. One position will primarily support Workday financial systems, including but not limited to procurement, expenses, and customer accounts. The other position will primarily support Workday HR systems, including but not limited to Absence/Time Tracking, Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Talent. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Collaborates with department staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by the information systems and technology. Develops, maintains, and provides technical subject matter expertise in order to convey and communicate capabilities, and delivers knowledge transfer to appropriate staff for skill development. Identifies detailed requirements from business users through interviews, documentation, and facilitated working sessions for process improvement initiatives and implementing upgrade enhancements. Leads/participates in Project and Change Management activities for Workday new releases. Ensures there is adequate end-user documentation, communication and training for any system changes, enhancements and new implementations/upgrades. Structures and develops test plans (e.g. test objectives, test cases, test data and test scripts) for executing unit, integration, system and/or acceptance testing in order to ensure the solution meets the business requirements. Manages acceptance testing with the business users performing system configuration and integration testing including the functionality, performance, and fit-for-use to ensure original requirements are met and defined constraints are controlled. Develops reports for functional areas and coordinates with the Data Management function (Data Warehousing) for development of complex data analysis models and reports. Collaborates with the Project Manager to ensure the needs of the department have been met. Acts as liaison with Information Technology and/or outside vendors to support relevant systems. Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintains system tables. Documents process and results. QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Associate degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business, or Information Technology required (Bachelor's degree preferred), AND Three or more years of recent, related experience, including experience working in an Analyst role supporting Workday HCM / Payroll / Financials and/or equivalent ERP systems, OR An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience. Experience working effectively with HR, IT, Finance, and cross-functional colleagues is required. Demonstrated system configuration experience and a working knowledge of system design and development techniques is required. A strong understanding of HR, Payroll, or Finance Accounting is required. Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills are required. Workday PRO Certification or equivalent training is preferred. ESSENTIAL APTITUDES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze and present data and program information, orally and in writing and in non-technical language Strong research, project scheduling and project management skills. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external customers, including college administrators, faculty, and staff. Self-motivated with the ability to perform independently. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Ability to think strategically. Demonstrate a positive attitude, maturity, initiative and integrity with a professional image contributing to the success of the college. Work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work with diverse student, staff, and community populations. Ability to identify needed action without continual direction. Additional Information Pay: $62,900.00 - $94,300.00 per year. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
