Position Overview:
As a Collaborating Physician, you will play a pivotal role collaborating with nurse practitioners and physician assistants to manage patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
You will ensure that all care delivered is compliant with HIPAA regulations and adheres to Alabama state laws governing medical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Evaluation: Oversee the wound care assessments and treatment plans conducted by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, to promote optimal healing and care.
Patient Care Plans: Review, endorse, and provide guidance on patient care plans to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards for effective wound management.
Telehealth Consultations: Conduct telehealth consultations as needed, offering expert advice to healthcare staff and patients regarding wound care strategies and treatments
Collaboration and Best Practices: Actively participate in case discussions and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in wound care management, including the latest advancements in grafting techniques and therapies.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the care team regarding patient status, treatment progress, and any necessary adjustments to care plans.
Compliance and Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality by adhering to all relevant regulations and ensuring that practices comply with Indiana state laws.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Must hold an active MD license in Alabama (mandatory)
Experience: Previous experience in Geriatrics, Primary Care, the ED, Hospitalist, Gen/Surge, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of the complexities of chronic wounds and the regulatory framework governing collaborating physicians in Indiana.
Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Independence: Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
