Proposed Annual Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications as follows: • Research Associate II: $63,900 - $81,100 • Research Associate III: $72,800 - $93,000

Description of Work Unit: The Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) at Colorado State University (CSU) conducts interdisciplinary research in atmospheric sciences and collaborates with NOAA and NWS.
Position Summary: CIRA seeks a motivated individual for a full-time social science research position, focusing on connecting NOAA's weather and climate forecast improvements to public needs.
Responsibilities: Conduct SBES research and provide knowledge for program planning.Support project management activities, including meeting coordination and status reporting.Document and evaluate NWS products and services.Prepare presentation materials and respond to SBES-related inquiries.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field plus specific years of experience in managing research projects (details provided in original description).Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research.Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check.Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in applied research within environmental sciences.Knowledge of the weather and climate enterprise.Diversity Statement: Candidates are expected to advance the Department's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
