POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Production Supervisor, and is responsible for performing all day-to-day activities involving Material Handling, Batch Making and Packaging functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Batch Blending, Reaction, Packing BatchSafely use standard forklift, pallet jack and hand cart to load, unload, and move productMaterial Handling and Packaging functions - filling, lifting, rolling and labeling drums and pails of hazardous chemicals by following detailed proceduresCompleting required paperwork for product batchesKeep work area clean and organized and ensure equipment is kept in clean, working orderAdhere to OSHA standards and safe work practices at all times REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent, and previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling is a must; preferably in a manufacturing environment in the Chemical industryForklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift trainingBasic math and computer skillsKnowledge of OSHA standards and Safe Work proceduresStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers and supervisorsSelf-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision, be highly motivated, and enjoy working as part of a team PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a fast paced, chemical manufacturing environment.
Overtime will be required at timesMust have the ability to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, climb stairs or ladder and frequently walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and generally perform physically demanding tasksWill be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, hard hats, steel toe cap boots, and company provided uniform Contact person
