Job DescriptionResponds to emergency maintenance and disasters calls during the night shift and adequately assesses emergency situations, reference guidelines, take measures to minimize losses, and contact appropriate personnel if needed. Also responsible for maintaining established standards of cleanliness and sanitation including student lounges, lobbies, stairs, restrooms, showers, and other interior space. Duties include floor maintenance, dusting, gathering and removal of trash, snow and ice removal from entranceways and sidewalks, collecting recycling, and replenishing supplies. Operates powered and manual cleaning equipment. Reports needed equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusual housekeeping situations. Responsible for the care and handling of housekeeping supplies, equipment, and assigned keys.Required QualificationsExperience in light maintenance, and cleaning of institutional, domestic, or commercial areas. Working knowledge of disaster and emergency procedures; and commercial and industrial cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment and safety practices. General maintenance skills. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills for interaction with employees, students, and visitors at a large university campus.
