12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties:
The Academic Technology Manager manages the technology and technology support for the Pullman General University Classrooms (GUCs). In this role, you will oversee the hardware, software, space, and human capital resources for the delivery of mission-critical academic instruction on the Pullman campus.
You will be responsible for long-term, high impact decisions such as design, setup, configuration, and maintenance of the academic environments. This position collaborates with Pullman campus leadership, and WSU system constituents, to ensure classrooms are set up correctly to best utilize technology and ensure the seamless delivery of instruction to Pullman students. Collaborating with the provost-led General University Classroom (GUC) committee, you will make strategic decisions on the best use of financial state appropriations to maintain the highest service delivery to students. You will use project management principles to generate and approve specifications and design requirements, prepare cost estimates, make purchase recommendations, review budget allotments, and manage expenditures.
You will supervise a team of people who assist with daily operations, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network problems. This includes both on-site and remote technical support. The manager will develop training programs and step-by-step guides so that team members can quickly identify and resolve problems. Working with the team, you will identify areas for improvement that will have the highest impact on the students and faculty.
You will conduct an annual review of classroom technology services and needs based on new initiatives, new policies, and new or revised procedures. In addition to the Pullman classrooms, you will work with colleagues on other campuses to standardize practices and create compatible classroom technologies across the WSU system. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and 6 years of experience. Any combination of relevant education, professional certification, and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: At least four years of relevant experience in a senior-level role.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Academic Technologies and Information Technology principles, practices, procedures, and systems thinking.
Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team in both physical and remote modalities.
Ability to present ideas, concepts, and instructions in a clear and concise manner.
Capable of building consensus, cooperation, and soliciting feedback from key stakeholders for campus and system-wide Information Technology projects.
Capability to develop new techniques, concepts, and theories and integrate the techniques, concepts, and theories into strategic and operational practice.
Possesses the skill to serve as the technical project lead for both campus and system-wide projects.
Demonstrated customer service focus.
Experience managing, troubleshooting, and resolving specialized hardware and software systems, with the ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues. Experience writing code.

Range IT08 | $7,648 to $10,289 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
