Beekeeper Group needs an Account Director, Advocacy, with direct experience in communications and social media in the policy/advocacy context for our growing Hive! We are looking for people who love a challenge and are not afraid of tackling multiple projects and building strong client relationships for a variety of clients simultaneously. Experience working for an advocacy organization, public affairs agency, political consulting firm, or campaign is a major plus – but not a deal breaker.
Our ideal candidate will build their own practice within the Beekeeper Group framework, can write anything from reports to tweets, possesses great digital savvy, and can quickly learn about complex policy issues and technology. What will you be doing?Overseeing day-to-day activities on client accountsInterfacing with both internal and external teamsGrowing, managing, and mentoring a team of account support staffActively manage, develop, inspire, and motivate staff to excelAnticipate potential challenges and evaluate strategies with senior leadershipProvide expert communications and/or advocacy counsel to clients in line with their respective business prioritiesOverseeing operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline, and budget adherenceEffectively lead account teams on complex communications challenges and in the creation of communications plans and goals; manage against themRecognize and apply impactful communications trends, and translate those insights into actionable ideasWorking closely with account team to ensure high quality and timely delivery of internal and external work to the overall satisfaction of assigned clients and supervisorsCoordinating multiple aspects of client campaigns, as well as digital projects including website designs and developmentBuilding networks and supporting new business opportunity effortsIdentify emerging opportunities to add greater value for clientsFormulating reporting formats that showcase firm efforts and meet client needsWriting memos, analysis, and case studiesWriting in a succinct and skilled manner; also proofing junior team members' work productIdentifying and building relationships with client community stakeholdersDeveloping actionable strategies for blogs and social mediaSkills5-7 years full-time experienceAbility to multi-task with shifting priorities based on client needsComfortable working on tight deadlines and in a team environmentBasic familiarity with paid social advertisingSuperior strategic thinking, writing, and presentation skills requiredExperience managing budgets and teamsExperience managing multiple social media accounts simultaneouslyA strong desire to stay aware of the trends in communications and public affairsKnowledge of social media scheduling softwareFamiliarity with monitoring metricsHere's a look at what you can expect:The annual compensation for this role is between $90k-$110k, with the expectation that a successful candidate will be able to leverage our competitive business incentive structure (details available upon request).Health insurance (including medical, dental, and vision), of which Beekeeper Group pays 70% of the reference plan premium.Short and Long-term disability, basic life insurance, and ad&d coverage of which Beekeeper Group pays 100% of the premium.401(k) retirement plan which Beekeeper Group matches 100% on the dollar through 5%.Health, Transportation, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).Yearly vacation of 10 days and 5 days of sick leave (including 2 personal days) at full pay, accrued on a monthly basis.
