We are seeking a talented, motivated, and driven Account Manager to join our U.S. based team. The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing an exclusive customer base of traditional importers, focusing on European and Asian car makes and models. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, talented team supported by a large parent company with 180 years in the industry.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the automotive industry, a proven track record in account management or sales, and the ability to foster strong client relationships while driving revenue growth. Experience and expertise within the automotive aftermarket segment, specifically focusing on European and Asian vehicles.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities Sales Promotion – Drive the sales of products and services to both new and existing customers while maintaining an extensive understanding of current market conditions and trends in the Import Car market within the U.S. and Canada. Business Plan Execution - Execute business plans and objectives tailored for customers to meet growth targets. Competitor Analysis – Stay up to date on competitors within the market landscape, including gathering insights of products and services. Customer Support - Respond to all customer inquiries for product information, availability checks, order details and price quotes in a timely manner. Marketing Collaboration – Partner with the Marketing team to develop and execute customer specific promotions and events. Trade Show Representation – Serve as a Brand Ambassador for the bilstein group at major customer and industry tradeshows presenting the company's portfolio and values. Line Reviews & Gap Analysis – Conduct and present line reviews and gap analyses to identify growth opportunities as well as plans to address customer needs. Customer Partnerships - Cultivate and maintain strong, trusting relationships with customers for continued success. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in business, automotive technology, or a related field preferred, or 5+ years of applicable experience with technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
Business Acumen: Strong understanding of basic business practices and high proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite. Must have excellent presentation skills for customers and group audiences.
Skills: Effective communicator with strong relationship building skills Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and articulate the key technical elements of our product offering Strong negotiation skills with both customers and internal stakeholders Ability to adapt to a changing environment Demonstrated conflict resolution capability Ability to use data for fact-based consultative selling Proactive and able to thrive in a remote office environment Travel The ability to travel as needed, including international and occasional weekends Current passport or ability to secure one within 90 days of hire Clean driving record required Expense report management responsibility Preferences: Interest in automotive systems and technology with a technical aptitude Strong understanding of the European car brands and makes aftermarket parts landscape Entrepreneurial mindset with a consultative approach to developing accounts Prior experience working with WDs, Jobbers or Technicians Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs California or Michigan, possible opportunity for other U.S. location for remote work position.
