Patient Account Representative - Central Billing Office (Full-Time) LOCATION : Family Health Care of Siouxland – Central Billing Office POSITION : Patient Account Representative
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
Monitor accounts receivable for assigned payers. Process incoming checks and prepare deposit. Arrange payment plans for patients and
offer financial assistance when applicable.
SUPERVISOR : Billing Office Manager
QUALIFICATIONS :
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
1. Generates various accounts receivable and pending reports, investigates billing problems for resolution.
2. Inputs patient's data base information which includes insurance and demographic information.
3. Works with patients in securing prepayment sources or financial agreements.
4. Participates with other staff to follow up on accounts until no balance or turned over for collection.
5. Assists with coding and error resolution.
6. Assists with answering the telephone and providing information as requested.
7. Assists with completion of FMLA and disability forms
9. Performs related work as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
1. High school graduation or GED.
2. One year of billing experience in a health care organization.
Preferred:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
2. Word processing and computer experience.
ALTERNATIVE TO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for one year of billing
experiences.
