KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Description Job Title: Accountability Data Analyst Job Title Code: 02236 Salary Grade: S634 Department: Research and Accountability Reports To: Executive Director Research and Accountability FLSA Status: Exempt Date Prepared: July 2024 PURPOSE OF JOB : The Accountability Data Analyst is responsible for data analysis, analytics, and reporting information impacting school accountability, evaluation, and performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Accountable for basic and complex statistical analysis Create and maintain data files to analyze data and report information to meet critical district priorities Create spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to conduct and illustrate trend analysis Transform/compile data from a variety of sources and format into data acceptable for analysis Analyze and interpret large and complex data sets and metrics Works in collaboration with the Research and Assessment team Conduct a review of high-priority data files to make required corrections reported to Core Data and School Leadership Transform data from a variety of sources and formats into data acceptable for analysis software and spreadsheet analyses Synthesize information from multiple resources, conduct trend analyses, and prepare charts and graphs to illustrate data trends Design and develop standard, ad-hoc, and custom accountability reports as needed for reporting, evaluation, and analysis for various stakeholders Evaluate the quality of data, troubleshoot, and make necessary adjustments Evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of given datasets or metrics SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a bachelor's degree or job-related experience Three years' experience in educational data analysis and problem-solving with large amounts of data Knowledge of research and evaluation design, including application of appropriate statistical procedures, data analysis, and interpretation of results Experience in the use of Microsoft computer applications and statistical analysis software (SPSS preferred) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree or job-related experience within a specialized field of Student Information Systems, preferably Infinite Campus PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
