**Job Description:**

Prudential Financial is seeking a motivated and resourceful Part-Time Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, from day-to-day operations to financial reporting, while assisting in maintaining the overall financial integrity of the organization. **Key Responsibilities:**

- **General Ledger Management:** Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.

- **Financial Reporting:** Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.

- **Budget Management:** Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide support to departmental budget leads to ensure adherence to financial objectives.

- **Accounts Payable/Receivable:** Process invoices and payments in a timely manner and monitor overdue accounts to ensure compliance with payment terms. Assess financial health by reviewing accounts receivable.

- **Audit Support:** Prepare and maintain documentation for external audits. Assist in responding to auditor inquiries and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

- **Tax Preparation:** Support in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

- **Process Improvement:** Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy within the accounting functions.

- **Collaboration and Communication:** Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and presentations. Support management in leadership activities, maintaining a collaborative work environment.

- **Technology Utilization:** Utilize accounting software and tools to enhance efficiency in data entry, processing, and reporting.

**Requirements:**

- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the financial services industry.

- **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

- **Soft Skills:**
- **Presentation:** Ability to clearly articulate financial information in both written and verbal formats.
- **Leadership:** Demonstrated ability to influence others and contribute to team goals.

- **Resourceful:** Proactive in identifying issues and creatively seeking solutions.
