Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Peekskill Executive Office at 35 hours per week.
Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Finance team in Peekskill, NY.
This position will require daily travel to our Peekskill Executive office.
The position reports to the Controller and participates in the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are reasonable, appropriate, are GAAP compliant and meet with operational policies and procedures.
The ideal Sun River Finance candidate must communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), plan and organize work initiatives to accomplish goals and objectives.
Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation and recording adjusting journal entries. Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per program, site and/or department. Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, long-term debt, etc. Answers Accounting/Finance questions by researching and interpreting data Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting requirements. Assist in budget and forecasting processing, including cash flow impact Assist Grant department with proper recording of estimated revenues, vouchers and cash receipts via A/R module. Analytical review of systems extracts for revenue recognition.
SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES Strong MS Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ownership of work with attention to detail MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in accounting Five years of relevant experience Audit and/or Not-For-Profit accounting a plus
COMPENSATION $55,000-$65,000 based on experience
