**Job Description:**
PPG Industries is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Accountant in San Antonio, Texas. This part-time role is designed for you to gain hands-on experience in the accounting field while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring our financial processes operate smoothly by supporting our accounting team and upholding PPG's commitment to excellence.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Help with month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and payment processing.
- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries as needed.
- Maintain organized financial records and files in compliance with PPG's record retention policies.
- Facilitate monthly budget tracking and variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and proposing enhancements.
- Assist with payroll processing as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Handle miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned by senior accounting staff.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
- A minimum of 1 year of accounting or finance-related experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong people management skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
