Posting Description: Accountant - Captive Insurance

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Charleston, South Carolina Office

What the day will look like The Aon Charleston, South Carolina office is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of a portfolio of captive insurance companies primarily located in the Southeast of the US. The accountant will work closely with a broader team of professionals ensuring all the compliance, finance and accounting requirements are met. Preparing the financial statements for a portfolio of diverse accounts Preparing regulatory filings and premium tax returns Preparing supporting materials for annual Board meetings Reconciling loss and investment report data Oversee cash management for assigned portfolio. Support and collate key financial information for captive audits/examinations. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory filings.

Skills and experience that will lead to success. Experience in preparing financial statements with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or related experiences. Proven ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently. Experience managing several projects simultaneously. Bachelor of Accounting/Finance/Business Administration degree or equivalent experience Prior captive experience beneficial but not required. Preferred to have accounting/business experience Effective communicator both verbally and in writing Thrive in a team environment and able to work well independently. Education: bachelor's degree in accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent years of industry experience.

The salary range for this position (is $46,000- $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Charleston, SC. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
