Description of Duties:
The Accounting Clerk provides analytical and procedural support to the Accounting Department.
He/she also carries out other accounting duties assigned by the Chief Financial Officer such as:
• Backup support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Preparing monthly journal entries
• Reconciliation of monthly GL accounts pertaining to revenue and assets
• Supporting the Chief Financial Officer in the development and analysis of program budgets and/or organizational financial reports
• Assistance with departmental billing with Managed Care Organizations
• Helping ensure bank deposits and transactions are performed appropriately
• Interfacing with all the organization's staff
• Following agency and department policies and procedures
• Helping meet departmental goals and/or outcomes while growing in the required competency level for the position
• Assisting in the financial reporting and/or helping program managers with other administrative requirements of grants/contracts
Qualifications:
Minimum BA specialized in Accounting or Business Management and at least two plus years of comparable experience is preferred.
Accounting Software proficiency and Excel skills will be needed to be a strong performer in this role.
Grants management experience is a plus.
Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, skilled in oral and written communication and customer relations, and able to multitask.
Experience with nonprofit accounting and budget management is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to confidentiality protocols.
Ability to work in a diverse environment in a community setting with an open-door policy.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and complete daily tasks in a timely fashion.
Additional Information:
Experience with the disabilities movement is preferred, but not required.
