The Devices and Services team is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Inventory & Reverse Logistics space, with a primary focus on inventory valuation reserves.
This role will support high-impact, cross-functional projects with senior leadership visibility in the Finance and Operations organizations.
The individual owning these areas will drive significant impact and improvement opportunities across Amazon.
The successful candidate will currently be operating at the manager level.
Typical candidates for this position will have held similar positions in larger public companies, will have experience in the inventory/reverse logistics space, or held a manager level position with a Big 4 public accounting firm serving Fortune 500 clients.
Key job responsibilities

This role requires a self-starter with the ability to exercise judgement in the face of ambiguity.
The candidate must have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies that are grounded in data-based recommendations.
This role involves regular interaction with leadership, and therefore requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A successful candidate must be able to challenge existing processes and assumptions, while identifying enhancement solutions and influencing change.
Candidates should have experience working cross-functionally in rapidly-evolving environments, as this position will frequently partner with business, finance, operations and tech teams to drive automation, reduce manual effort and improve controllership.
An individual in this position will be expected to understand internal control design concepts in order to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area, as well as to influence the design of systems, processes and controls for growing business activities.
Basic Qualifications

5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

CPA

Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency

Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification

Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients

Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Experience with inventory accounting

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
