The Role: Support and provide leadership of the organization's financial and accounting practices, with an emphasis in financial reporting.
This position meets the requirements and may be considered hybrid eligible.
Primary responsibilities: Support a team of professionals in the provision of cash management, accounts payable/expense management, financial reporting and cash management Set up new vendors in Concur and Ceres.
Ensure W-9 has been received.
Review and posting of vendor invoices, corporate credit card charges, and employee expense reimbursements Maintain an accurate fixed asset listing and enforce Harvesters' capitalization policy Prepare interim financial statements in accordance with GAAP, along with supporting analysis explaining variances from budget Prepare analytics and schedules as needed for the annual audit and tax form 990 Financial administration of government awards Prepare budgets, collect data for site visits and provide relevant documentation as required by government partners.
Complete special projects such as census reporting, fixed asset reporting, etc.
Other aspects of the job: Incumbent will spend 95% of time doing stationary work at the computer terminal.
Must have a dedication to the mission of Harvesters.
This position requires an understanding of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures.
Qualifications: Experience: Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in accounting.
Proficient in computer use including Microsoft office applications.
Highly proficient in MS Excel and able to work autonomously in a dynamic work environment.
This position requires judgment and expertise to make decisions and provide relevant analysis for complex financial situations.
Attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as partner agencies and vendors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Education: Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Preferred qualifications Education: CPA or Master's degree Experience: Three years' experience in the nonprofit industry or in industries with inventory, warehousing, and/or logistics elements.
