Position: Interim Accounting Manager (Potential for Permanent Role) Job Summary: The Interim Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance, with a focus on grants and endowment funds.
This role is essential in ensuring effective financial processes and fostering collaborative relationships within the College community.

Reports To: Senior Associate Vice President for Finance
Work Environment: This is primarily an in-person position with some flexibility for hybrid work, as approved by your supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures related to accounting and fiscal transactions to ensure compliance with College policies and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Support the development of a strong internal control environment to mitigate risks and protect College assets.
Assist in streamlining financial processes to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burdens while providing excellent service.
Serve as a key resource for accounting and financial reporting matters, coordinating with external auditors for annual financial statements and regulatory reviews.
Supervise the fiscal year-end close and assist in preparing the College's audited financial statements and regulatory reports, including IRS Form 990.
Manage quality control in accounts payable, general ledger, financial reporting, and payroll functions.
Foster a positive team environment by mentoring and developing staff through collaborative and supportive approaches.
Conduct regular meetings to monitor workflow and provide guidance for professional development.
Represent the Senior Associate Vice President for Finance on various financial projects and initiatives.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum of five to seven years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with some management experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license preferred.
Experience in higher education accounting is a plus.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial compliance standards.
Proficient in Excel and capable of developing complex spreadsheets and financial reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty and staff.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Commitment to a customer service-oriented approach to decision-making.
High integrity and ability to work independently while managing expectations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $55 - $70 per hour, based on skills and experience.
