Accounting Manager

Position Overview: As the Accounting Manager at App Academy, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the core accounting functions, driving cross-functional projects, and leading the implementation of accounting process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of expertise from both Big Four accounting firms and start-up environments, leveraging their deep knowledge to enhance our financial operations and contribute to our mission-driven initiatives.
\n Responsibilties:Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close.Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for stakeholders, including support for audits.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless financial processes, driving efficiency enhancements.Supervise and mentor a team of offshore contractor accountants for accurate and timely work, fostering growth.Establish financial controls, policies, and compliance with industry regulations.Manage tax compliance, support strategic financial planning, and stay updated on accounting standards and trends. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with a Big Four accounting firm and start-up environments.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proven experience in leading accounting teams and managing cross-functional projects.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and external partners.Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.Passion for education technology and the company's mission to impact lives positively.
