We are currently seeking a hands-on accounting manager to join our high-growth and fast-paced DSO.
This position will assist with all elements of the accounting function, including General Ledger accounting and month end reporting.
Experience in auditing, public accounting, and as a corporate accountant is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with multi-step, detailed, and thorough reconciliations via complex processes is required.
Responsibilities Assist with management and distribution of the month, quarter-end and year-end close process ensuring work is completed in accordance with closing schedule.
Review and approve month end journal entries and accruals.
Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals and maintain reconciliations for various payroll related accounts.
Assist with implementation of new software applications for lease accounting and sales tax reporting.
Review and approve monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Perform and review P&L trend analysis for multiple locations and research any unusual variances and prepare journal entries as needed.
Support the back-office integration of newly acquired locations.
Assist with annual audit requests.
Contribute to and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with best practices.
Ad hoc projects or other duties as needed to support the Accounting Department QualificationsDemonstrate sense of urgency and works well under pressure Proficient in Excel including consistent use of lookups and pivot tables Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships Can work well both independently and on a team Proven analytical mind and not afraid to dive deep into the details and solve problems Sharp attention to detail and high degree of accuracy Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment Good verbal and written communication skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Public accounting experience a plus 5 + years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment Excellent computer skills including advanced Excel, Word, SharePoint and automated accounting systems Practice Description
