General Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager fulfills the mission of the schools by assisting the Principal regarding the fiscal matters of the school, maintaining the bookkeeping, assisting in the preparation of the budget, assisting employees with human resource matters, compiling reports for the Principal and various committees, and advising the Principal concerning other financial matters.
This position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of School Finance at the Diocese of Fort Worth's Central Office.
Essential Job Functions: General Position Summary:
•Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
•Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teaching of the Catholic Church
•Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
•Maintains confidentiality concerning school matters
•Prepares monthly financial statements for the school's operations, Endowments, parent association, parish finance council, school advisory council, and clubs
•Processes and executes accounts payable and receivable
•Reconciles all balance sheet and FACTS accounts and performs monthly, quarterly, and end-of-year close-outs
•Performs budget analysis and keeps the Principal informed of budget trends, reviewing before each Advisory Council meeting
•Acts as the administrator of the FACTS system for tuition and incidental billing
•Oversees tuition assistance funds both to the school and the students
•Communicates effectively with the school community
•Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and local administration
•Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
•Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff
•Serves as contact for employees regarding new hire paperwork, status changes, benefits, retirement, and other human resource processes
•Oversees, monitors, and processes payroll twice per month as the ADP supervisor
•Provides assistance to the Principal in the development of the annual budget
•Implements management of funds per the direction of the Principal
•Maintains appropriate filing system including accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly finance, and student enrollment
•Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
•This position works in a typical office environment but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding business needs, tight deadlines, and heavy workloads.
•This position requires the ability to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time.
•This position requires a significant amount of time regularly spent answering and speaking on the telephone providing customer service support and problem solving for both internal and external customers.
•This position requires data entry via computer keyboard that requires repetitive and frequent hand and wrist movement.
•This position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds with assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
Travel Requirements:
•Travel may be required to Diocesan Schools.
Education and Experience Preferred:
•Bachelor's degree preferred, or 4 to 5 years of comparable work experience.
•Experience with Catholic Church Administrative Office is preferred.
•2 to 3 years of experience with fiscal planning and management, general accounting, budgeting, and payroll.
•Experience with Sage Intact (preferred)
•Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
•Microsoft Office - Intermediate to advanced capabilities with a heavy emphasis in Excel, and Word
•Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills
•Demonstrate analytical, customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
•Active member in good standing of a Roman Catholic parish Church with knowledge of the Catholic Church organizations
•Ability to oversee technology concepts, including personal computer, and network server needs
