Position: Accounting Specialist
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY 12603
Payrate: $60,000 to $70,000 / Yearly Salary
Position Description & Responsibilities The Accounting Specialist will help support day-to-day operations of accounts receivable and payroll. Staff should have a detailed understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite, be extremely fast at problem-solving, and have relevant experience. This position is to support People USA programs in all counties. Accounts Receivable Record revenues when vouchers are paidFollow up with contract managers regarding vouchers and paymentsPrepare data reports on stats collected by staffCompile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and lossesCode documents according to company proceduresReconcile or note and report discrepancies found in recordsPayroll Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using appropriate softwareReview and verify source documentsCalculate and post payroll deductionsProcess payroll by established deadlinesInvestigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errorsUpdate payroll records by recording changes, including insurance coverage and salary increasesAddress employees' pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll informationComplete requests for pay-related documents, including statements and verificationsDevelop, manage, and maintain comprehensive payroll recordsEnsure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelinesAssist Director with Care Coordination/Health Home training, including working with IFH to create a reconciliation of payment processesAssist with CORE implementationTrain on Billing training & MCO's contractsOther Assignments File IRS 1099s and 1096Conduct agency cost savings research, including maintenance of vendor listManage Staples Account Cost Saving, including maintenance of site cost centersBilling for EmploymentCreate and maintain Finance How To GuideBackup for auto insuranceAssist with closingsProvide supporting documentation for auditsRequirements Proven experience as a team player and relevant administrative support experienceIn-depth understanding of the entire MS Office SuiteAbility to organize a daily workload by prioritiesMust be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environmentA proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skillsProfessional level verbal and written communication skills
