The Village of Orland Park, a dynamic, progressive community seeks an Accounts Payable Coordinator who, under general direction, can perform work of considerable difficulty in assisting the Assistant Finance Director and Finance Director with analysis of the Villages financial accounts payable functions.

Key Responsibilities:
This represented position is responsible for processing payments and applying principles of accounting in order to prepare and analyze financial information and perform a variety of standard and complex technical accounting, finance, and administrative assignments.

This position coordinates between Finance and other departments to input invoices into our new ERP system.
Reviews others entries for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciles statements and accounts.
Runs cyclical reports to be presented to the Village Board, and generally facilitates all payments for the Village with direction by the Assistant Finance Director.
The Accounts Payable Coordinator may be assigned small projects to analyze, or to run special reports on an as needed basis.
Other responsibilities include attending routine meetings, filing 1099 forms, and acting as an accounts payable expert when working with and training other employees within other departments.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
This position requires an Associate degree in accounting or a related field.
A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience is also required.
Experience in municipal finance/accounting is strongly preferred.
Strong analytical abilities are required.
The ability to maintain confidential information and work as a team is required.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is also required.
The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise financial management systems and have advanced level Microsoft Excel skills.
Must have well developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex numerical data effectively in clear graphic formats to ensure understanding by a non-technical audience.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary ranges from $51,667 through $69,742 depending on qualifications.
