the production of fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the U.S., Mexico, and beyond. We proudly serve the Retail, Wholesale and Foodservice fresh fruit and vegetable industry and are seeking a skilled Grower Accountant to join our team!
Reporting to the Grower Accounting Manager, the role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payments to growers and accounting of all grower-related costs, crop pack outs, grower settlements, and accurate account reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
Place purchase orders into the system.
Add charges to Purchase Orders to ensure all costs are accurate.
Request and review all grower documentation.
Management of Grower Accounting and Lot Accounting Reports including handling of all A/P communications with vendors/growers.
Oversee and contribute to the preparation of all inventory related information for financial statements (P&Ls, Balance Sheets, Statement of Cash Flows, ROI) and all other reports required by management.
Administration of grower contracts and grower database.
Respond to grower requests such as production and payment reports.
Assist with monthly advance process.
Reconcile packing materials inventories.
Pack outs, settlements and grower forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business required with an emphasis in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Experience in fresh product, agriculture, or perishables is preferred.
Skills & Characteristics
Bilingual Spanish language is required.
Proven and successful experience in an accounting work environment, specifically with account reconciliation, analysis, accounts payable and general ledger transactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of departments, grower clients and customers, promoting a customer-focused culture.
Strong work ethic, capacity to get things done independently, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment.
Attention to detail and double-checking work to prevent mistakes.
Technology
Excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Famous Software knowledge preferred.
Other
Must be able to work in the U.S.
Able and willing to work extended hours, including weekends (from home).
This position requires that you be able to work with a computer while sitting or standing, sometimes for extended periods.
