Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as anAccounts Payable Specialist!About the roleAs theAccounts Payable Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert who provides direct support to internal and external customers by processing the day-to-day vendor invoices, assigning and directing the workflow, and processing new vendor setups and maintenance. You will complete accurate and timely processing of invoices and disbursement of vendor obligations in adherence to AP policies and procedures, and to ensure the integrity of the financial accounting system.What you'll do in this role Process and input invoice records into the accounts payable workflow system promptly and accurately while adhering to departmental procedures.Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.Create and prepare daily, month-end, quarter end and year end reports and balance sheets for journal entries and to complete processes.Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.Monitor and respond to email, vendor and internal customer inquiries and invoice distribution.Perform backup functions such as account maintenance, reconciling books of accounts and other ad-hoc requests and project work. You will continuously update procedures and assist with training/onboarding of new employees.
