Acoustics Laboratory Supervisor

HP Pelzer Automotive Systems Inc. seeks an Acoustics Laboratory Supervisor in Troy, Michigan to: Supervise the activities of the Acoustic Laboratory and staff.
Responsible for acoustic development of materials, components and vehicle sound package as well as provide acoustic solutions that meet NVH performance considering mass and cost utilizing NVH Concepts like spring mass system and acoustical engineering.
Develop Acoustic research, specifically the studies of materials for acoustic applications.
Supervise/Perform Acoustic DNA studies using Acoustic Transducers, Data Acquisition, Data processing & Analysis, Digital Signal Processing and Frequency Response Analysis.
Lead and support meetings to discuss NVH projects.
Plan and manage the maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
Supervise and train staff and perform Sound Transmission Loss (STL) and absorption tests utilizing Bruel & Kjaer (B&K), Muller BBM PAK, Alpha Cabin, Impedance Tube, Isokel, Binaural Head, and Artemis Suite.
Manage the Acoustic Lab Certification.
Develop and maintain the acoustic materials database.
Develop and maintain reporting within the USA and Europe.
Develop capabilities in acoustic simulation and perform acoustic simulations and validations using acoustic modelling, FEM, or Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) to optimize acoustic behavior and to reduce the amount of testing.
Supervise the preparation of samples for NVH.
This position will manage one Test Engineer.
Teleworking is permitted 40% of the time.
