Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team asan Actuarial Associate II!

About the role
This is an actuarial role focused on pricing and profitability in the Retirement Annuity Actuarial Pricing group. Our group has a specific focus on the pricing and profitability of our Symetra Bermuda Reinsurance company. We are an agile team focused on creating value for our policyholders and family of Symetra Companies with our DA, FIA, and RILA products. Our work is highly visible throughout the company and a major driver of sustainable annual growth. Our team is dedicated to modernization using automation, Snowflake, Python, Power BI, and other tools.

What you will do
Support actuarial modeling for pricing, plan forecasting, and profitability reporting
Monitor the profitability of sales over the last 12 months
Support the development of new annuity products including risk analysis
Take a leadership role for reoccurring projects
Drive value enhancement efforts via automation and new technologies
Continue to develop industry knowledge with a focus on annuities
Participation in the Actuarial Student program to pass actuarial exams and achieve your actuarial designation

Compensation
Salary Range: $75,300 – $125,600 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs
Who you are
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background
1 to 4 years of insurance related actuarial experience
3 to 5 actuarial exams
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Python, Snowflake, and/or Power BI experience preferred
Experience in actuarial modeling software is a plus (MG-ALFA preferred)
Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others including management of projects
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently
High school diploma required
