The Assistant Director of Well-Being Strategy at the University of South Carolina plays a crucial role in advancing the strategic initiatives of the Student Health and Well-Being department. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and implementation of marketing, communication, web management, social media, and podcast strategies. The Assistant Director also supervises a student marketing team, ensuring alignment with the department's goals and objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public health, or related field required. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in marketing, health communications, or related field. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, including digital and social media strategy. Experience supervising or mentoring staff, interns, or student employees. Understanding of health and wellness issues facing college students and a commitment to promoting student well-being. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences. Organized and able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills. Diligent, take initiative and follow through and follow up with projects. Knowledge of website management and content management systems (CMS); familiarity with WordPress or similar platforms preferred. Demonstrated experience in MS Excel; Word; Outlook. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization, work effectively with all levels of employees and management, and assist in providing solutions to challenges that arise. Job Duty: Communication: Develop and execute comprehensive health communication strategies to promote student health and well-being services and initiatives. Serve as the liaison with SAAS Marketing and Communications team, while managing and maintaining unit/department's website, ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and usability. Oversee the creation and distribution of engaging content across social media platforms to enhance student engagement, including podcast or other multimedia content to educate and inform the student community about health and wellness topics. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 25 Job Duty: Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with divisional and university goals. Assist in cultivating relationships with stakeholders, including university departments, student organizations, community partners, and external agencies, to promote collaboration and support for health and wellbeing initiatives. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 25 Job Duty: Evaluation: Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Staying informed about trends and best practices in marketing, communication, and digital media within higher education and health and wellness sectors. Essential Function: No Percentage of Time: 25 Job Duty: Student Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of student employees, providing guidance, feedback, and support to enhance their professional development and productivity. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 15 Job Duty: Administrative Services: The administrative responsibilities will include coordinating the aspects of student involvement, engagement, and activities. This role will support the Associate Director in developing a comprehensive engagement plan for all students, create and implement an annual strategic plan with goals, budgets, and initiatives, and establish appropriate policies and procedures. Additionally, the position will manage the budget for programs and individual initiatives while assessing overall program impact, growth, and development.
