Ivy Tech Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Construction Management classes.
Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities and Duties Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective mannerMaintains accurate records of student work and attendancePrepares thoroughly for each instructional hourMaintains a safe and orderly learning environmentGrades and returns student work in a timely mannerCounsels students regarding their grades and progress in the courseConstructs classroom materials that support the goals of the courseDesigns curriculum and a schedule of instructionStays abreast of the most current teaching methods and technology in the classroomUses assessment techniques to improve learning and teachingAssists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabusMaintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriateAttends professional development opportunities when possible Minimum Requirements: Five (5) years minimum experience in Construction ManagementHold an OSHA certificationHave experience in Specification and EstimationExperience in Building Print ReadingExperience in Building Code and StandardsExperience in Project Management Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related fieldOne year of teaching experience in Construction Management in a post-secondary schoolCurrent industry-recognized certification within the field of construction managementExperience in Green Building Technology
